Lion City Cup 2011 Final: Lion City Cup Final  2011 Results:Brazil's CR Flamengo are the champions of the 23rd Canon Lion City Cup after they beat the Singapore U-16 side 4-3 on penalties.

The match had ended 0-0 in regulation time.
The final match was played at Jalan Besar Stadium, in front of 5,000 fans -- the highest attendance for the tournament.Favourites Flamengo dominated play but could not capitalise.

The teams were deadlocked after 90 minutes of play and four minutes of added time.A penalty shoot-out was held to decide the winner.

After still being tied at 3-3, the final penalty takers were crucial.Singapore's Illyas Lee fluffed his shot, while Brazil's Arlindo Rodrigues converted to ensure the Samba boys went home with the trophy.

In the battle for third spot, Singapore's U-15 side were 4-nil victors over Italy's Juventus.Singapore opened accounts mid-way through the first half, with a goal from Irfan Iezwan.The Italians were down to 10 men in the 50th minute, when Fabio Gili was sent off for a second yellow card.

This helped Muhd Azhar to add to Singapore's tally, when he unleashed a superb shot from just outside the box, on the hour mark.Minutes later, Adam Swandi squeezed through the Italian defence to effectively seal the match.

But that was not the end - the Italians conceded a penalty in the 82nd minute, and Muhd Azhar converted for Singapore's 4-nil victory.
