Bonnaroo: 2011 Bonnaroo Lineup: The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival: Bonnaroo Music Festival is a four-day "hipster-vibe" music festival that takes place on a 700-acre farm in rural Tennessee. Bands this year include Buffalo Springfield, Mumford & Sons, The Strokes and many more.
A group of us is braving the 14-hour drive and $4-a-gallon gas from New York to Tennessee to attend. I purchased my Bonnaroo ticket in early February. Since then, current events have certainly changed and gas prices have spiked.
Accommodations for the festival include tents, RVs or off-site local hotels and motels. I purchased the ticket with the intention of renting an RV with seven other people. However, gas is simply too expensive on top of the base rental cost, rental insurance and costs per mile.So my plans have changed. We split up into two small cars and are meeting in Knoxville, Tenn. Then we plan to caravan three hours to Manchester.
