Today Show: NBC's Today Show: The Today Show (todayshow) is on Twitter:Al Roker and NBC's Today show will be filming in Charleston Friday morning after surprising a local charity with supplies.
Roker has packed up a Penske truck and set out on the show's tenth annual "Lend a Hand Today" tour making stops at small charities in several cities across the country. The tour's mission is to help small charities working toward improving their communities.
The road trip kicked off Monday in Anchorage, Alaska, wound through Las Vegas on Tuesday, headed south to Houston on Wednesday, east to Birmingham, Ala., Thursday and will make it's last stop of the week Friday in Charleston.In each city, Roker will surprise a charity group with trucks full of goods and supplies to assist them in their mission. He will spend time throughout the show's broadcast with the organization and spotlight their efforts.
The location is a closely guarded secret and will be revealed when Roker arrives at the organization's headquarters.
